LOVING CARE FROM A BIRD LOVER

The Parrot Nanny specializes in professional companion parrot and pet sitting services.  The Parrot Nanny comes to your home in Northern Virginia to care for your companion parrot(s) and pet(s) in your absence.   The Parrot Nanny also offers dog walking, puppy care and pet sitting in the Woodbridge, Lake Ridge and Lorton, Virginia.  Some boarding services are also available.

Why come to your home?  Many pets can become infected with diseases from other animals while being boarded at the vet or other boarding facilities.  The Veterinary hospital is where sick animals go.  It's like spending your vacation at a hospital!  This can cost you even more money for treatment, not to mention the pain and suffering of your precious pet.  As you know, companion parrots are very sensitive to changes in their environment.  If furniture is moved around or if you bring something new into the parrot's "space" they can react suspiciously and with caution.  Some parrots are even afraid of new toys.

Parrot can be especially susceptible to infection and diseases from other birds, so boarding your precious companion at a vet or with another bird owner can be dangerous.  The Parrot Nanny takes precautions to minimize the risk that diseases are passed to your bird(s) from another and so that she will not bring any diseases home to her birds.  You can enjoy your vacation, focus on your business trip, etc. and feel secure that your precious angel(s) are cared for and safe.

Companion parrots are social animals needing personal attention and interaction with their flock.  Without social interaction, parrots can actually go "mad" and begin self-destructive behaviors such as feather plucking.  The Parrot Nanny is experienced with communicating with parrots so that they feel comforted.  The Parrot Nanny will spend time with you bird(s).  The Parrot Nanny knows how to avoid fear reactions which can scar you bird for life.  The Parrot Nanny's professional services can also identify any potential health problems your bird may experience in your absence.  As you know, a parrot's instinct is to hide any health problems from the flock as they will not be abandoned.  The average pet sitter may not be aware of these signs.
